Rotate PDF

Mixed portrait and landscape pages, upside-down scans, and sideways phone PDFs are common. Rotate selected pages or the whole document permanently so every viewer prints correctly — processed locally in your browser.
Rotation

How to rotate PDF pages

1. Upload your PDF.
2. Select pages to rotate (or all pages).
3. Choose rotation angle: 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180°.
4. Apply and download the rotated PDF.

Rotation examples

Phone scan fix

A receipt scanned in portrait appears landscape — rotate 90° so it fits standard print margins.

Mixed appendix

Rotate only landscape charts in an otherwise portrait report.

Duplex print prep

Rotate odd pages 180° so double-sided printing aligns on long-edge binding.

When to rotate PDFs

Before merge when sources have inconsistent orientation.
Before printing archival scans.
When readers ignore rotation metadata and show pages sideways.

When rotation is not enough

When pages need cropping white borders — rasterize or use desktop prepress.
When interactive form fields misalign after rotate — test in Adobe Reader.
When only view rotation is needed temporarily — use your PDF reader’s view menu.

Scan pipelines

Fix rotation on each source PDF before merge PDF — otherwise one sideways chapter ruins an entire submission packet.

Print shop handoff

Confirm rotation in print dialog preview. Long-edge vs short-edge duplex settings interact with page orientation.

Accessibility

Rotated text remains selectable if it was text before rotation. Scanned images still need OCR for screen readers.
